The 25th National Wetlands Awards Ceremony was held on May 8, 2014 at the U.S. Botanic Garden.
The Staten Island Wetlands: Wetland systems proved critical in protecting much of Staten Island's (NYC) northwest communities during 2012's Hurricane Sandy. The Trust for Public Land continues to identify and conserve wetlands and resilient natural buffers throughout the region in order to expand the network of natural lands which can help absorb the impact of climate-driven storm events.
