Dr. Rebecca Sharitz, professor and senior research ecologist at the University of Georgia’s Savannah River Ecology Laboratory, is the leading expert on the ecology of southeastern floodplain forests and Carolina bays—isolated, depressional wetlands.
Dr. Carol A. Johnston has been advancing wetland science for the past 35 years, from her first job as an air photo interpreter for the New York State Wetlands Inventory to her present job as a Professor at South Dakota State University.
Dr. Barbara Bedford is a senior research associate in the Department of Natural Resources of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University, and is director of the Ecosystems Research Center there.
